A Quick Trip to Hong Kong and Maçau

In early April 2025, my wife and I took a five day trip to Hong Hong and Maçau to visit family . . . and to enjoy these fascinating cities . . . and to feast on the fantastic culinary treats....
I always enjoy my trips to Hong Kong, and not just for the views.
We took a bus over the long Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Maçau Bridge (34 miles!) to "The Las Vegas of Asia." [Our hotel view]
One of the treats of visiting Maçau is discovering a new temple. My brother in-law is always good for visit to a wonderful temple.
Old fashioned ice cream at the temple entrance on a warm April day.
This hillside temple is over 1000 years old and many of the original buildings and altar rooms are still standing.
An entry to one of many altar rooms.
Traditional temple architecture. It was a busy day at the temple.
In addition to visiting this temple to enjoy its spiritual environment, we were also there to pay our respects at the altars of the featured deities.
We purchased the very large incense sticks for placing on the alrar. The altar attendant lit them with the world's largest cigarette lighter.
Our incense were lit and placed in the altar recepticles with proper reverence.
