My most current blog entry:
Saxophone Club - Bangkok, Thailand

If you are ever in Bangkok and are looking for the best music, you can't beat the Saxophone on Victory Monument Circle. I was there last night with my old friend John Stiles and we saw and heard a great blues set with another of my old friends, Khun Chai, sitting in with the house band. Khun Chai is perhaps one of the top 10 blues guitar players in the world, and I have seen all the great blues guitar players over the years. Chai is magic. (Photo taken on my iPhone4.)

No racing, but another beautiful drag strip sunset!

I had a bad feeling about the evening - it might rain again and cancel my racing. The sunset was fantastic: magenta, green (!), and turquoise.
As the sun set further and further over the horizon, this massive, ice-capped thunderhead grew more beautiful. The colors were other-worldly.
More beautiful by the minute.
Unbelievable magnificence.
The sky darkened. The thunderheads moved in. No racing tonight.
Found Objects

The found object in this case is this photo: found when I was cleaning up and consolidating some of my back-up hard drives. it is from a trip to Khao Yai last year . . . a wonderful restaurant.
Drag Strip Beauty

I was out at my drag strip race car shop yesterday. Huge storms passed all day. Beautiful and dramatic.
The sunset, among the storms, was especially breathtaking.
Pretty.
But it was at the other end of the drag strip, at the finish line, where the true magnificence of the sunset revealed itself. How in the world could you concentrate on your driving with this scene filling your window?
The trans is back!

Yep. My race car's racing transmission is renewed! Yep, that's a new racing torque converter too.
Read more on my race car blog, HERE.
Not only is the transmission re-newed and a new torque converter sourced . . . but it has all been re-assembled, re-instslled in the race car, and re-wired as of May 8, 2011. Too bad it was raining all week-end or I would have been able to make some test blasts. Oh well.

I will upgrade the fuel system from the fuel cell to the fuel pump this week-end. This is the new '-10' set-up.
